LC has signed an agreement with H2 Green Steel to construct parts of their green steel production facility in Boden, northern Sweden.
H2 Green Steel will use hydrogen instead of coal to reduce iron ore to steel, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The facility in Boden will be the first of its kind in Europe and is expected to have a fully developed capacity of 2.5 million tons of green steel per year.
LC’s task includes the construction of a building of 150,000 square meters housing the facility’s Cold Mill, including rolling mills, storage, and offices. Production will start in 2024.
